NEW: Dry protein feed

As a relatively new initiative, FERMENTATIONEXPERTS is producing protein feed, i.e. protein in dry form that can be used to replace refined soya, blood plasma and fishmeal for piglets. FERMENTATIONEXPERTS is thus supplying protein for piglet mixes that is better, less expensive and more eco-friendly than any other protein on the market.

Award for trail-blazing rapeseed protein

 

 

 

On Tuesday, a technology for fermenting rapeseed protein that makes it possible to use more rapeseed cake and more crushed rapeseed in the feed received the Agromek Award for innovations in pig production at the Agromek 2010 trade fair at MCH Messecenter Herning, Denmark.

The fermented rapeseed protein was exhibited by Vådfodereksperten AS.

The judges placed emphasis on the fact that this new technology has the potential to become a game-changer in the pig production sector. Previously, rapeseed has not been used for pig feed largely on account of the high level of bitter substances it contains.

By fermenting rapeseed, however, pig producers have the opportunity to access a protein feed that does not have to be imported. The judges also highlighted the fact that the new technology simultaneously has the capacity to reduce the pig farmers’ feed costs, and that it is a source of protein that will also be available to organic pig farmers.
